The heat was on!!!

But that did not stop the 2400 attendees who showed up for this annual show on the beach!

Record-breaking temperatures and high humidity bathed us all but we came to rock the beach and we did just that!

Headlining the Redken stage were Redken Artists Leah Freeman and Francesco Villa who utilized Sam Villa products with passion that contributed to our great sales.  Sam’s Textur® Texturizing Iron led the weekend with only three irons left at the end of the show!  Thank you Leah and Francesco for your support!

Sam Villa Booth at Myrtle Beach ShowTom King and I were very aware of the younger crowd who were eager to learn before they purchased.  We spent a lot of time connecting with customers that came back if they did not buy in the first round.  We found these attendees to be well educated and they knew what they were looking for.

This is the first show since the busted economy that proved we might be on the road to recovery.  A lot of attendees told us that the “slump” for them has passed.  They told us that their clients who were going longer in between appointments were now coming back more often and were ready for new looks.  This is a bonus for us all!

There were more students at this show than we recall in the past and these students were very well informed and educated.  This tells us that the quality of education has improved and we can look forward to better-educated students coming out of school.  I urge salon owners to get into the schools and start recruiting so you can mold and shape them – students are critical to everyone’s future success!

This show has grown larger every year it will be moved to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center for 2011 and we look forward to having Sam with us to ROCK the beach!

We love working with you, Columbia – you are a class act and we always feel the love from your entire team.  We thank you for inviting us back this year and we promise to deliver even more for 2011!   See you in Ocean City!

  1. I am learning to like my shears I bought at the show, they are different than anything I’ve used before- which is a good thing. I’ve compared them to my old shears and the angle on them is so different, I know this will help my hand not be so stressed after a bazillion haircuts! I also love the ‘v’ haircut video that came free with the shears. I’ve put a ‘v’ variation on everyone I cut the oldest being 70+! Check out my facebook, Head South Beauty Salon for a pic of me and Francesco at the show!

  2. That addresses several of my cnorcens actually.
