PART I: “The Opening”

What if there was a way that the front desk team could help the stylist team make more money? Well guess what, there is! The client connects with the front desk three times a visit, twice before they actually sit in the stylist chair; during confirmation calls, and when greeting the client for their visit.  The third time the front desk connects with the client is after the service to close and check out.  That’s three different opportunities that they have to help the stylist!

“OPENING” THE SALE FOR YOU…

THE GREETING:   After the greeting the client, the front desk should let the client know the service specials the salon is offering for that month, (example: $5 OFF REDKEN CHEMISTRY with any color service this month) as well as any product specials.

THE TOUR:  Next, have the front desk support staff member take the client on a tour of the salon, stopping at different areas of interest, such as the featured area where hot tools are displayed. Let the client know that not only does the stylist use top of the line tools, clients have the unique opportunity to use them at home as well. They should encourage the client to ask the stylist for more information on what they will need to recreate their look.  If you are selling top of the line tools like Sam Villa flat irons and brushes, make sure you know how to explain the difference in quality and cost.

These are effective times to help “plant the seed” about product specials and retail offerings, and help close the retail sale, and help pre-book the next appointment and so on!

As a stylist make sure to communicate and help to educate the front desk so that they can help you make money faster!

    This stuff really works! We had Jackey in or Salon in Tampa and our add ons increased $1500 in 2 weeks. Even more importantly our staff is motivated and focused. They now know where they are going and Jackey gave them the map to get there! Morale is up and busy staff means things run smoothly. Even the guests notice a difference.
