Another Day In The Life Of A Photoshoot
Sam’s Texur® Iron has become one of the hottest tools in the industry today. The looks to be achieved are endless and what better way to get some of these hot techniques out there than to shoot the step-by-step techniques with live models for an upcoming “technique” brochure.
Well, that’s just what Sam did!
Two models were selected from Aristeo Tengco’s Emmanuel New York Models and two days later the shoot was in progress. Redken Artist, Summer Parham was on hand to assist Sam.
As always, Sam had his storyboard of the finished looks that inspired him. The make-up, performed by Blue Michael, was to be soft and natural as to not up-stage the texture Sam would be placing in the models hair.
Sam’s first model was Masha for the Textur® Volume technique. Photographer, Frank Louis, shot this effortlessly as Sam went through the six steps to achieve this hidden volume on fine hair. This technique is also featured on Sam’s Studio Session DVD, Artificial Texture.
The second technique was Textur® Lacing. Sam’s model, Elena had perfect long hair to really show off this unique technique that is sure to inspire anyone looking for colliding textures. Sam uses his Textur® Iron to backcomb the hair in place of a teasing comb to create a “pomp”. How cool is that?
We went on to shoot another technique that Sam calls “Scrimping” that places indentations from Textur® Iron in random sections. The end result again is colliding textures.
Mark you calendars to be sure to catch these fresh techniques and more during Sam Villa’s Texture Webinar, on Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at 7:00pm Eastern Time on behindthechair.com. To register for the webinar, please visit www.behindthechair.com.
