Jeanette McDowell from Pendleton, Oregon has won two tickets to see Sam Villa teach live at the Redken Exchange on October 27-29th in New York City! She has never been to NYC and was urged by Sam Villa himself to enter the "Aspire For More Sweepstakes" while backstage at the Idaho Barber and Beauty spring show where she was assisting Dhaniel Doud and Villa.

"I have been a stylist for fifteen years and intrigued with hair since I can remember. As a little girl, I would play with my Barbie dolls for the sole purpose of cutting their hair - a passion that simply stuck with me. After becoming a single parent, I was able to get the push I needed to focus on continued education. With support from my family and friends, I was fortunate enough to take every class Redken had to offer in my area. After watching the artists, I was inspired to become part of the Redken team. So, in 2006 I went to the "New Hire Connection" in Tampa, Florida, where I became a Redken Certified Colorist and Redken Artist!

My goal is to always be moving forward with my career and I do that with constant education. It makes it possible to provide my clients with the latest trends and an experience they will never forget. Advanced education contributes to my success, which allows me to provide a secure life for my children.

I'm always eager to learn new tips and techniques, and excited to share them with both salons that I work at - The Hair Gallery in Pendleton, Oregon and Shear Illusions in Hermiston, Oregon. Loretta Lowrance, the owner of Shear Illusions, as well as my good friend of 15 years, is the person I have chosen to bring to New York. She has been a big part of my career as a stylist, but most importantly, a big part of my life. I feel she is the perfect person to come with me because she is also focused on continued education and growing her business (the first KRS Salon in Eastern Oregon). We are both incredibly ecstatic to have this opportunity to go to New York and learn from the best - Sam Villa!

Earlier this year, I had the privilege of working with Sam in Boise, Idaho. He is an amazing man! His unbelievable talent, passion for our industry and desire to share his knowledge with others makes him an incredible educator! He is not only a great educator, he is very down to earth and a REAL person. He is one of a kind, and I can't wait to spend three days in New York learning from the best in my field.
