For best results, texturize your hair with the Sam Villa Textur® Iron to create volume and soft, moldable texture making your hair easier to work with. To texturize your hair, take horizontal sections and spray a minimum of 6-8" away with Redken quick tease 15 backcombing finishing spray to protect the hair from heat and for maximum iron results. Use the Sam Villa Textur® Texturizing Iron tapping the plates down the length of your hair to texturize the entire head.
Create a part where you normally wear it using your Sam Villa Detangling Comb. Begin your braid on the side with the most hair, working with three strands of hair. You'll start by
crossing the outside strand over the center strand to set the braid in place.
When creating your French braid only work with a section of hair that about 3" in total width - about half-way between your hairline and the round of your head. Brush the rest of your hair back and out of the way. As you continue your braid, add pieces of hair to the left and right strands before crossing over the center strand (a traditional French braid).
Keep adding hair to your outside sections and continue your French braid until you arrive behind your ear. After your braid is past your ear don't add any more hair, then braid out all the way to the bottom and secure with an elastic.
Repeat the same steps on the opposite side of your head until you have created two almost-identical French braids. Note: leave at least 4" of your hair unbraided in the middle - between your braids - to create your ponytail.
Use your Sam Villa Styling Brush to smooth the unbraided hair straight back into a ponytail at the back of your head. Next, cross both braids over your ponytail and then wrap them back under in the same direction where they came from.
Take the ends of both braids and secure with an elastic under your ponytail. Then using medium length bobby pins, secure the braids by pinning thru the elastic into the hair at the back of your head.
