This is a technique that I learned in beauty school and I still use today. It's quick & simple and is perfect for cleaning up split ends. Watch the video above and scroll down to learn more about this awesome technique.
First things first, let's talk about caring for the split ends.
Treating Split Ends:
To keep those split ends at bay, we recommend prescribing Redken Extreme Anti-Snap Leave In Treatment fortified with proteins. Why: When the hair swells it causes the hair to split, this treatment will help strengthen and repair the hair.
Removing Split Ends:
Typically we find split ends sitting on the top surface. Begin by taking a horizontal section. Make a number three with your fingers, then take your middle finger and push it down, then slide your fingers around the hair and close your hand. When you do this, all the split ends will pop up.
Brace the bottom cutting blade of your professional shear against your index finger and while you open and close the shear, slowly slide down the section. This will enable you to consistently remove the split ends as they pop out while sliding down.
Easy, simple and fast! But remember to prescribe treatment for the split ends!
