Tips and Tricks for Curly Hair

Curly hair don't care. Yeah, unless you have natural curls! Let's face it, maintaining curly hair is tough work. For many, we spend hours upon hours trying to straighten those pesky curls with a flat iron or stretch them with a blow dryer & round brush and for what? Curls that reappear midway through the day!

Stop! It's time to embrace curls, the same ones that most girls would die for, and it's easier than you think with the products and tools we have available today. Get control of those irresistable curls and fall in love with your hair all over again with these hot tips for curly hair only!

Leave-in Treatments

Leave in treatments help reduce the volume of hair and add shine. We recommend using Redken'sCurvaceous Full Swirl Curly & Wavy Hair Cream,  it locks in moisture, while keeping the frizz under control.

Control Flyaways

This tip is awesome for when you want to tame flyaways and frizz. Using a powder brush and Redken’s Shine Flash 02 Glistening Mist, simply mist your brush with the product and brush along the surface of your hairline, containing frizz and adding shine.

Use a Diffuser

We recommend blow-drying your hair using a diffuser as well as using COLD air instead of hot. This will prevent the curls from being stretched and also reduce frizz.

Use a Tissue

That’s right, we said tissue! With natural curl, we tend to get areas that are straighter than others. Simply grab a tissue and squeeze the straight areas dry, which will encourage the curls in the hair.

Remember, when working with curly hair, to keep your fingers OUT OF THE HAIR. This will reduce weight from oils and prevent frizz.  Be sure to check out Redkens Curvaceous Shampoo and Conditioner designed specifically for those with natural curls.  For more tips and tricks on hair head over to
